YJC versus VJC

"Winning isn't everything, but the effort to win is." - Zig Ziglar

Congratulations guys on overcoming insurmountable odds to defeat VJC with a score of 5-4!!

All our trainings was worth it, we came, battled and improved!! We played a fantastic game today and everyone contributed to our victory.

The EXCO like to thank the team for their commitment and hardwork, as well as the sacrifices that has been made, both individually and as a team. It was not for naught, we are THIRD!

Personally, having seen the team grow from a nobody to one of the top schools in the 'A' Divs, it is incredible and I thank all players from past years and present for making it a wonderful journey for me and the team.

Special thanks to the following people who stuck with the team through thick and thin (in no particular order):

1. Mdm Shelia and Mr Ian Ong - for opening the hall and fighting for the use of the hall for our holiday trainings with the other CCAs, as well as providing pointers for individual improvement, arranging logistics for the matches during competition times.

2. Coach Ngasti, Serena and Hilman - for their dedication to training the team and pushing us to achieve greater heights, individually and as a team, coming down during their holidays to train us and encouraged us when we were down

3. Mdm Koh (YJC's Principal) - for providing us with inspiration before today's game and encouraging us by telling us that the outcome of the game was not as important as the game itself and by challenging us to overcome, not our opponents, but ourselves.

4. Lim Ding Jun, Gary Ding and Mark Chua - for providing the incessant nagging and scolding us to improve ourselves, individually and as a team, as well as pushing us beyond our limits and surpassing ourselves. For providing the listening ear and constant stream of encouragement to the team (as well as taking the brunt of scoldings for the team), and still being there for us when we needed it. For being the hard disciplinarian and physical fitness trainer who picked on the nitty gritty stuf (like ankle socks) and conditioned us from fat to fit, as well as his much unwanted but expected lame jokes.

5. Yan Shi and Ivan Louise - for their spectacular goal-keeping skills and their equally funny jokes about stenches and Harry Potter (not limited to and inclusive of), not to mention, Ivan crying when we won the match.

6. Girl's team - for constantly cheering and supporting us through our matches as well as video taping the matches for us to view and improve.

7. Farhan, Jasdeep, Nikhil and Ruben - for his RIDICULOUS cheers that made both teams laugh as it did encourage them on. For his apparel that bonded the team together with our jokes about it and his magnanimous character that laughed along with the jokes (sometimes, albeit rarely). For their non-stop nonsense about graph paper and everything else (especially Jasdeep's taste in music, Ding-ga-taka-taka ding-ga-taka-taka)

8. Marc and Nicholas - for creating and updating this blog (although slacking off occasionally, then again, rather often) and his 'Botak' hair that we like to touch. For scoring goals in the most important match, demonstrating his skill and giving hope to the next generation of floorballers in YJC, and losing his teeth during the course of the match (how he found the portion that broke off, you have to ask him). Now we have Botak and Bogei!

Please wear the Full White Jersey for tomorrow's prize presentation. Complete with the long socks and court shoes. Let's look professional too.

YJC floorball guys wishes GOOD LUCK to the girls in winning tomorrow's match against MJC.
